Giving back to the local community is something we feel passionately about at Jones & Swanson. One of the ways we’re continuing to give back to the Marietta community is by sponsoring the Fraternal Order of Police Cops and Kids program again this year.
The FOP Cops and Kids Program, formerly known as Shop with a Cop, is led by the North Metro Fraternal Order of Police as a way to provide Christmas to kids in need. The organization is made up of active and retired Law Enforcement Officials in the North Metro Atlanta area. At the 2017 Cops and Kids event, 159 children were able to shop with Police Officers at Target stores – many from Title 1 schools in the area and about 30 children from the Calvary Children’s Home.
This annual shopping event brings joy to so many families, but it also requires funding to be possible. Donations are still in need, and are tax deductible. You can donate to the Cops and Kids program here.
The Kermit Sanders Lodge #13 serves Cobb, Paulding, Cherokee and Douglas County areas and is the largest Lodge in the state of Georgia. In addition to the Cops and Kids Program, Lodge #13 sponsors other community programs. Their annual back to school supply event provides supplies to many schools in the area, as well as Easter and Thanksgiving outreach events. Contributions to the Lodge are consistently used to ensure that local families have necessities that are easy to take for granted, such as warm clothing, school supplies and toys for the holiday season.
We’re proud to contribute to this organization, and urge others to do the same. A strong community ensures that others are taken care of, and also creates a sense of belonging in developing meaningful relationships with others. No donation is too small, and all are appreciated.
