We are excited to announce that our very own partner attorney, Chase Swanson, has been asked to serve as the Cobb County Bar Association’s Secretary for 2018-2019. He was sworn in during the March General Monthly Luncheon held earlier today at the Mansour Center in Marietta.
Serving as an officer of the Cobb County Bar is quite an achievement – here’s what Chase had to say about this honor:
Having been born and raised here in Cobb County, I am very proud of this community and take very seriously my responsibility as a leader in serving Marietta and Cobb County. For that reason, being asked to serve as Secretary of the Cobb County Bar Association means a lot to me. I look forward to the opportunity to work as an officer in such a great association this year and in years to come.
– Attorney Chase Swanson, Partner, Jones & Swanson
The Cobb County Bar Association was originally founded in January of 1953 with 52 charter members, with the purpose stated “to maintain the honor and dignity of the profession of law; to promote the welfare of the bar and its members; to cultivate social intercourse among its members; and for the promotion of legal science and the administration of justice.” The initial purpose of the organization was essentially social in nature, but it also served as a type of delegation and committee for legal practitioners at the time. Since that time, the responsibilities of the Cobb Bar Association have evolved. Now the Cobb Bar sponsors various social events and educational programs throughout the community. Law Day is a well-known event that is sponsored by the Cobb Bar each May to award special recognition to lawyers in the community.
Chase, along with the other lawyers and staff members at Jones & Swanson, are proud to partner with various events sponsored by the Cobb County Bar Association each year. Sleighbells on the Square is one of the many Cobb Bar causes Chase champions each year. Please join us in congratulating Chase on this tremendous accomplishment – which we’re certain will be followed by many more in the future!
